How the Starter Kit Works with the 4-Door Expander Kit

The Starter Kit provides the foundation of the Inception system, including the Inception controller, enclosure, SIFER readers and credentials. It delivers the core access control and security functionality and acts as the central point for managing the system.

The 4-Door Expander Kit connects to the Starter Kit to expand the system by adding access control for four additional doors. The kit includes two Standard LAN Access Modules (SLAMs), four SIFER readers and a powered enclosure.

Each SLAM manages two doors and provides the connections required for complete door control, including Request to Exit buttons, Door Contact sensors, door locks and door monitoring. The additional doors are integrated into the same Inception system and can be configured, monitored and managed through the Inception web interface.

For example, the Starter Kit could be used to manage the main entrance and core security functions, while the 4-Door Expander Kit could be added to control access to four additional doors throughout the building. Together, the kits provide a scalable and integrated security solution that can grow with the needs of the site.
