How the 2-Door Expander Kit Works with the Starter Kit

The Starter Kit provides the foundation of the Inception system, including the Inception controller and the initial access control and security functionality. The 2-Door Expander Kit connects to the Starter Kit and expands the system by adding access control for two additional doors.

The 2-Door Expander Kit includes an Inner Range Standard LAN Access Module (SLAM), two SIFER readers and a powered enclosure. The SLAM communicates with the Inception controller and provides dedicated connections for each additional door, including inputs for Request to Exit buttons, Door Contact sensors and Latch Bolt monitoring, as well as outputs for door lock control and door open-too-long alarms.

For example, the Starter Kit could be used to secure the main entrance, while the 2-Door Expander Kit could be added to control access to two additional internal doors. Both kits operate together as one integrated Inception system and can be configured and managed through the same web-based interface.

As the site grows, additional expansion kits can be added to increase the number of controlled doors or expand the system’s security and input/output capabilities.
