How the 16-Input Expander Kit Works with the Starter Kit

The 16-Input Expander Kit is an expansion module designed to increase the number of detection zones available on an Inner Range Inception Starter Kit. The Starter Kit provides the core Inception Controller, while the 16-Input Expander Kit adds additional inputs for larger security installations.

Think of the Starter Kit as the main brain of the system, and the 16-Input Expander Kit as an extension that gives the system more connection points for devices such as PIR detectors, reed switches, glass break detectors, smoke detectors, and other monitored inputs.

How They Connect Together:

1. Start with the Inception Starter Kit

   • The Starter Kit contains the Inception Controller, which manages all security, access control, and automation functions.

   • The controller is the central point where all devices communicate and where programming is completed.

     
     

2. Add the 16-Input Expander Kit

   • The Expander Kit connects back to the Inception Controller using the system communication bus.

   • Once connected, the additional inputs become part of the same Inception system and are programmed through the same web-based interface.
