Retail Security by Design – Perth WA, South Central Stage 2
A major retail development in Perth is incorporating integrated security from the outset, bringing together access control, video surveillance, alarm management and vehicle monitoring within a unified security environment.
As reported by SEN News, Blueforce Security is delivering a security solution for Stage 2 of the South Central development in Jandakot, Western Australia, combining Inner Range Integriti, Milestone XProtect and Axis video technologies. When completed, the development is expected to become Australia's largest homemaker centre.
Building Security into the Development from the Start
South Central Stage 2 is currently under construction and will add more than 36,400 square metres of showroom and large-format retail space across seven buildings, along with hospitality facilities and more than 800 car bays.
According to the SEN News report, the security solution has been incorporated into the development from the outset, combining CCTV, licence plate recognition, access control and alarm management to support the operational requirements of the precinct.
Integrating Access Control, Alarms and Video
A key component of the project is the integration between IR's Integriti, Milestone's XProtect and the Axis licence plate recognition technology.
Within the solution, Milestone XProtect serves as the central video management and event platform, while IR Integriti provides access control and alarm management across nominated secure areas. Axis licence plate recognition cameras provide vehicle monitoring at key entry and exit points throughout the development.
As highlighted in the SEN News article, the integration between these technologies enables centre management to maintain a single pane of glass view of security events while simplifying the day-to-day management of CCTV, access control and alarms.
