Integriti V25.1: Smarter Load Balancing and Streamlined Firmware Updates

ree

Integriti V25.1 introduces major enhancements that elevate system resilience and simplify technician workflows. This update is especially impactful for installations running High Availability architectures and those managing large-scale hardware deployments.

Integriti Controller - Server Load Balancing

For installations utilizing multiple Integriti servers within its licensed High Availability (SKU: 996965) architecture, Integriti now offers automatic distribution of controllers to balance server loading. This feature ensures controllers connect to the server with the fewest connections, enhancing automatic load balancing in addition to any manual load balancing configured via the Primary Server.

Automatic load balancing is enabled by default for all controllers running firmware version 25.1.0 or higher on systems with two or more Controller Servers. When Controller Load Balancing is active, controllers will initially connect to their configured Primary Server. However, if another Controller server has significantly fewer connections, the controller will be redirected to this alternative server. Among multiple alternative servers, the one with the fewest connections will be chosen. The threshold for triggering these redirections can be adjusted using the load balance tolerance setting in the system settings.

Load Balancing improves server resiliency and redundancy in situations where a server can become unavailable (e.g. IT issues, down for maintenance, etc) and the controllers will automatically move to other servers without risk of overwhelming a single server.

Simplifying Integriti Firmware Updates

We have redesigned our firmware update process to simplify the updating of firmware for Integriti Controllers and LAN Modules. The updated Firmware Update dialog clearly indicates the ‘recommended’ firmware version packaged with the current Integriti version and identifies the firmware distribution of connected devices.

The redesigned Integriti Firmware Update dialog is divided into 3 sections:

  1. Firmware Summary: This section provides an overview of the currently installed firmware for all Controllers and LAN Modules in the system.

  2. Modules: This section lists all Controllers or LAN Modules that support the selected firmware.

  3. Firmware Update Progress: This section lets you start and track the firmware update process. This Firmware Update overhaul gives the technician a much clearer summary on the firmware status of all of their hardware. It brings to the forefront any modules or controllers that are running older firmware and require updating, as well as whether modules are running a variety of different firmware versions which should be resolved.

This new interface will provide technicians with a clear view of the firmware status of all devices online reducing the time required for technicians upgrading or adding to existing sites. It helps ensure that all Inner Range hardware is kept up to date with the latest security updates and improvements.
