High-Level Elevator Integration in Integriti

ree

Inner Range intelligent building management systems support high-level integrations with leading elevator management systems from KONE, Otis, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp, Mitsubishi and New Lift.

Integrating your security and access control platform with the building’s elevator system delivers a smarter, more seamless experience for both users and administrators. Instead of managing security and movement across separate, siloed systems, the Inner Range system brings them together, ensuring staff, visitors, and contractors can only access the floors and areas they are authorised for. This enhances safety while also improving convenience – credentials used at entry points automatically extend to elevator permissions, eliminating the frustration of juggling multiple layers of clearance or relying on manual interventions.

For building owners and operators, this integration reduces inefficiencies and administration overhead. With the Inner Range system, access rights are managed centrally, so there’s no need to configure permissions in separate systems or duplicate work. This also reduces the risk of human error – permissions can be automatically assigned, revoked, or modified as roles and requirements change. For example, a contractor’s visitor pass can grant elevator access only for the specific floors and timeframes required, removing the need for escorts and manual oversight.  This integration supports various authentication methods, including access cards, QR codes, and mobile credentials, including Inner Range Mobile Access, ensuring smooth operation for staff and visitors.

The Inner Range system provides comprehensive support for a wide range of modern elevator control functions*, ensuring buildings can balance security, efficiency, and user experience, as follows:

Destination Control

  • With Destination Control, users badge at a panel in the lobby or foyer, and the system automatically assigns them to a elevator that takes them to their authorised floor. By grouping passengers travelling to the same destination, elevators run more efficiently, reducing congestion and energy utilisation whilst simultaneously improving travel times. For end-users, this means smoother journeys and less waiting around during peak hours.

Car Panel (Car-Based Destination)

  • In the more conventional setup, users badge inside the elevator car and select from only the floors they are permitted to access. This simple and familiar approach enhances security by preventing unauthorised floor selections, while still delivering a flexible user experience that feels intuitive for day-to-day use.

Home Floor Calling

  • Designed for speed and convenience, Home Floor Calling automatically pre-selects a user’s home floor when they badge at the turnstile (or speed stile). The turnstile grants access and directs them to their allocated elevator, enabling a seamless, frictionless flow from entry to destination – perfect for busy workplaces or residential towers.

Call Types

  • The Inner Range system also supports advanced call types that personalise the elevator experience to suit different needs. VIP users can enjoy non-stop trips, accessibility options can provide extended times for floor selection or walking, and dedicated calls can be configured for cleaning or service staff. This flexibility ensures every user group – whether tenant, visitor, or operator – receives a tailored, efficient, and secure experience.

The benefits multiply further when the Inner Range elevator integration is combined with its support for other building management systems. Security teams can synchronise access with fire safety systems, ensuring elevator responses are coordinated with evacuation procedures. Intercom and visitor management systems can work hand in hand with elevator controls, providing guests with guided, automated access that improves their experience while maintaining strict security standards. This reduces bottlenecks at reception, frees up staff time, and enhances the professional image of the organisation.

Ultimately, the Inner Range system’s ability to unify elevator access with security, BMS, fire, intercom, contractor, and visitor management platforms (amongst others) creates a holistic ecosystem of automation. Workflows are streamlined, inefficiencies are reduced, and the building environment becomes safer and more intuitive for everyone who uses it. By investing in an integrated approach, end-users gain not just a security system, but a foundation for smarter building operations.
